Sort, Track and Control Your Sawmill Lumber Inventory

You have spent a great deal of time, work, and money in order to take a raw log and convert it to finished dimensioned lumber. All of the capital equipment and processes combined have added value to your finished product. The next step is to keep accurate records of your finished lumber and be able to keep track of your inventory. And one of the best ways to accomplish that is by utilizing lumber tags in your operation.

Add a Lumber Tag to Your Finished Products

A custom printed lumber tag complete with consecutive numbers and matching barcodes will help you to keep track of your inventory so you will always know the value of your inventory and where it is too. Your lumber tag can help you identify species, grade, length, thickness, board feet, layers, vendor, date, and any other possible data you wish to track.

Many Materials to Choose

Most lumber tags don't get exposed to harsh environmental conditions so a standard paper tag material may be suitable. For added durability or longevity, we can make your lumber tag out of any of the materials used for log tags...repulpable, digestible, or synthetic. We can help you decide which material is right for you.

If you use a software package to run your sawmill and track your inventory, e.g. Sawmill Manager, Simply Computing, eLimbs, Forestry Systems, and others, let us supply you with the Blank Lumber Tags that you need. We stock two of the industry standard size lumber tags: 4" x 6" and 4" x 8". These are made of a synthetic weatherproof material so you don't need to worry if they are exposed to the outdoors. Supplied in rolls on a 3" core that will work with any Thermal Transfer Printer. We can also supply you with the Thermal Transfer Ribbons you need for your printer, just let us know the make and model of your printer and let us do the rest!

2. 10pt White Wet Strength Tag - thin water resistant material - holds up outdoors
3. 13pt White Wet Strength Tag - heavier and more durable - holds up outdoors
4. 9.5pt White Vinylite - our most economical synthetic material - works very well outdoors
5. 10mil XT Film - heavy duty durable synthetic film for ultimate performance indoors & outdoors
